Cuc Phuong National Park is one of the oldest National Parks in Vietnam, it's the perfect place to escape the crazy traffic and beeping horns, immerse yourself in the dense forest surrounded by limestone mountain ranges that is home to a variety of flora and fauna. The National Park is located about 45km from Ninh Binh city, our tour leader will take you through several countryside roads and will give you a full explanation about the old Vietnamese villages last from thousand years ago - discover more about how the farming community make their income from rice fields, buffaloes and cows..

Arrive to the entrance of the National Park where you can visit the Endangered Primate Rescue Center, founded by Tilo Nader in 1993, it is home to around 180 primates representing 15 species. Enjoy a guided tour around the center to see the amazing work that they do to rehabilitate and conserve the endangered primate species of Vietnam, they also have breeding and research programs. The center is currently managed by Zoo Leipzig (Germany) and employs over 30 staff within the local region and from abroad. From the entrance drive a further 20km inside the National Park to the trekking trail for the 1000 year old tree. Trek through the lush green forest with an uphill climb to see the 1000 year old tree, keep an eye out for birds and wildlife, a round loop trail of 8km. If you are visiting in April or May then you will also be able to see 1000's of beautiful

butterflies in the National Park. The park is classed as a type of Evergreen Tropical Rainforest with a diverse range of flora species over a total area of more than 20,000 hectares. It's unique location on 2 limestone mountain ranges leads to its rich composition of flora with non indigenous species established with many indigenous species. It is also an area abundant in fauna with a total of 659 vertebrate species being recorded, including 336 species of birds, 76 species of reptiles and some endangered species like the Red Bellied Squirrel, Delacours Langur and Clouded Leopard.

As the National Park is located a little far away from the nearest town, it's difficult to find good food inside the park but don't worry as we prepare a Picnic Lunch on all our tours to the National Park from Chookie's experienced Chefs.
